Tikal's chat is how the Kingdom talks — across the world, in your guild, or just to the hero next to you. Open Chat from the toolbar. A few of the latest lines also float over the world at the bottom of the screen so you do not miss a guildmate while hunting. Those three pills keep the last two messages from distant talk (Global, Trade, Help, language rooms, Party, Guild, whispers) plus the latest system line (loot, level-ups, look). Nearby speech stays as a bubble over the speaker. Combat hits never appear there — they already float as numbers on the world. You can hide the overlay in Options → Floating system messages; the Chat window still has the full history.
| Channel | Who hears it |
|---|---|
| Global | Everyone online |
| Nearby | Players standing close to you (also shown as a speech bubble over your head) |
| Trade | Buying, selling, and market talk |
| Help | Questions for other players |
| Portuguese / Spanish / English / Polish | Language rooms — use these when you want a conversation in that language |
| Party | Your current hunting party |
| Guild | Your guild |
| Private | A whisper to one character (type their name in the To field) |
| System | Combat, loot, level-ups, and other game messages — read only |
Your own lines show in gold. A Game Master's name is marked (GM) instead of a level.
When you play in desktop Chrome, Tikal can translate other players' chat into the language you picked for the game (Settings → language). A short tag such as [trans.] (or [trad.] / [tłum.] in other UI languages) is appended so you can still tell the line was rewritten.
This is a browser feature, not a server one. You will see the original text (and no [trans.] tag) when:
If translations never appear on desktop Chrome, check that the game language in Settings matches the language you actually want to read.
