Every creature that roams Tikal is listed here by name — but on purpose, we don't tell you its stats, loot, or where to find it yet.
If you've fought this creature, register an account and edit its page to fill in its health, attacks, loot, and habitat. Over time this section becomes a real, player-written bestiary.
Deep in the L100+ hunting grounds, any open-world creature has a rare chance to rise as an Apex — a gold-named elite with two and a half times the health and harder, faster attacks. You'll know one on sight: it smoulders with a golden aura — a warm glow at its feet and gold embers drifting up its body — and its name reads gold. The moment one rises, the whole world is heralded and a golden skull marks its lair on the minimap and world map until it falls.
You can take one alone. An Apex is a prize, not a wall: your blows land at full strength whether you hunt solo or in company. The Seventh Sky Ward is a reward for company rather than a toll on solitude — while two or more hunters strike it within a few heartbeats of each other the ward buckles and everyone's blows land 25% harder. Rally a partner if you can find one; go anyway if you can't.
A new Apex rises at most about every twenty minutes per world, and no more than three ever walk the world at once.
Bringing one down is worth dropping your hunt for. However big the beast, an Apex pays out at roughly twice your normal hunting rate for the time you spend on it: 5× kill experience (a little less on the very largest creatures, whose health is capped so the fight stays winnable — the payout is trimmed by the same measure, so no Apex is better value than another), a triple purse, 5× bestiary and Warden's Contract credit for everyone who fought it, and — guaranteed, every single time — an Apex Skull: the beast's own skull cast in gold with jade set in its sockets, yours to keep or to sell.
