Tikal's world runs on a schedule of recurring events — bosses, invasions, rate boosts, festivals and visiting merchants. The regular schedule below is live in-game; the separately marked city-defense preview is not live yet. Check the Events panel (tap the pill under your XP bar) for exactly what's active right now and how much time is left.
Kingdom time is America/Mexico City (UTC-6, no daylight saving). Must-play weekly and monthly appointments fire twice: 13:00 and 19:00 — Europe's evening first, then the Americas. Same event, two sittings — not a second raid you farm twice. The Events panel shows countdowns in your phone's local time.
| Event | Time | Duration | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Obsidian Trader | Every day, rotates at noon | 24 hours | Travelling equipment buyer. The Events banner reads Obsidian Trader is in {city} today. City vocation shops only buy the gear they stock; Gundra the Merchant in each capital buys leftover junk cheaply. He pays 40% for leftover weapons, armor and jewellery, and full catalogue value for legendary roamers and world-boss uniques, in a different city's plaza each day, noon to noon. Ask a travel guide to take you there. See The Obsidian Trader below. |
There is no daily world experience hour. Guild members still get Jade Hour on Saturdays (see Weekly).
Every row below starts at 13:00 and again at 19:00 Kingdom time.
| Event | Day | Duration | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stone Brute Warband | Mondays | 45 min | Three waves of orcs and trolls raid the outskirts of Palm Haven, led by the Stone Warchief (up to 2× HP/loot). Everyone who fought the Warchief may open the capital-temple chest once per week. |
| Cenote Tide | Tuesdays | 90 min | Shores thicken with crabs, toads and swamp serpents, fishing catch chance rises +20%, and Tide Pearl Crabs drop Cenote Pearls. Sell them to Diver Chak in Palm Haven's plaza. |
| Blood Moon Hunt | Wednesdays | 2 hours | Wolves, orcs, trolls, bandits, jackals and boars prowl the wilds in greater numbers. |
| Tianguis of Kukulkan | Thursdays | 90 min | Hawker Sacnicté opens a this-sitting-only stall in a rotating city plaza. This week's Kukulkan Market Tile will not return. The Events panel names today's city. |
| Ballcourt Night | Fridays | 90 min | The Sparring Pit runs extra bouts. Finish a match during the window to earn the Ballplayer title — shown under your name, no combat power. |
| Jade Hour | Saturdays | 1 hour | +25% experience from hunting — but only for guild members. Join a guild to share the blessing. |
| Night of Xibalba | Saturdays | 2 hours | The underworld opens: 3 waves of Xibalba shades and bonewalkers invade the wilds near a city, with the Xibalba Herald on the final wave (scales up to 2.5× HP/loot). Everyone who fought the Herald may open the capital-temple chest once per week. Jade Hour overlapping Xibalba is intentional — both windows start together. |
| Cacao Rush | Sundays | 2 hours | Cacao-laden beasts roam the jungle in greater numbers. Hunt them for cacao pods and sell your haul to the cacao broker in Palm Haven's plaza. |
| Wayeb Unbound | Last Saturday of the month | 1 hour | Cultists and shades flood the streets of Palm Haven, led by the Cult Hierophant. Shares that boss's weekly capital-temple chest with Serpent Cult Uprising. |
Preview — not live yet. This free event will appear in the Events panel after the game update is released. The city-defense windows, enemies, and rewards below are not available in the current live game.
On Thursdays at 13:00 and 19:00 Kingdom time, conquistador forces will threaten one rotating mainland city for 30 minutes. Both sittings in a week target the same city. The Events panel will name it, and scouts will warn the kingdom five minutes before an attack. Defenders level 8+ who have chosen a vocation can reach that city's town square and tap Join defense. Entry is free, solo or with other players. Each level bracket shares its own siege battlefield: 8–49, 50–149, 150–249, and 250+.
Damage to the invaders, healing an injured ally during the fight, or completing an objective counts as participation. Contributing accounts receive 8 Defender Marks for a win or 3 for a loss, with a maximum of 16 marks per account per week. Each account can claim once per sitting; both Thursday sittings can contribute toward that weekly cap. A gold purse is also awarded: 100 / 400 / 1,000 / 2,000 gp for a win in the four level brackets above, or half that amount for a loss. A purse owed to a defender who disconnected is delivered on the next entry. Enemies give negligible kill experience and no farmable loot; the defense reward is the purpose of the fight.
| Defender Mark reward | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| City Defender Banner | 32 marks | A house decoration. |
| Defender outfit trim | 48 marks | A terracotta woven-trim color. |
| Defender of Tikal title | 64 marks | A cosmetic nameplate title. |
These rewards add no combat power and require no Premium. The campaign is alternate Tikal fiction, not a reenactment of an attack on the historical city of Tikal. It draws on the long conquest of Yucatán (1527–1546) and names historical figures Francisco de Montejo and Nachi Cocom, while its threatened cities and rescue story are invented for the game. Historical background: INAH, La conquista de los mayas de la península de Yucatán.
He is Tikal's travelling equipment buyer. City vocation shops only buy the gear they stock. Gundra the Merchant in each island capital buys leftover loot of any kind at a low junk rate (~20% of catalogue). For leftover weapons, armor and jewellery worth at least 100 gp, the Obsidian Trader pays 40% of catalogue value — better than Gundra's dump price. Legendary roamers (Midnight Pelt, Golden Hide, Tzitzimitl Claw, Apex Skull) and the four world-boss corpse uniques (Godking's Circlet, Wyrm's Noon Scale, Night-Titan Heart, Leviathan's Pearl) pay full catalogue value at both Gundra and the Trader. He has a large daily gold purse (150,000 gp) so a depot haul actually pays out. He also sells a ceremonial knife.
He sets up in a different city plaza every day, from noon to noon. The Events banner and panel both say Obsidian Trader is in {city} today; ask a travel guide to take you there.
| Item | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Obsidian Festival Knife | A usable level-15 sword (18 attack / 8 defense). He is the only seller. Wield it, or sell it back. |
| Obsidian Shard / Raw Jade | Crafting materials at Itzel the Smith: Jade-inlaid Dagger, Obsidian Ring; Raw Jade also goes into a Quetzal Charm. Or sell them for gold — city shops often pay a bit more than he does. |
| Jade Idol | Gold only. Sell it to the Obsidian Trader (he is the buyer). No crafting or quest. |
| Soul Orb / Demonic Essence | Gold only. Sell at city shops (Gundra the Merchant, Kawil and others often pay more than he does). No crafting or quest. |
Every row below starts at 13:00 and again at 19:00 Kingdom time.
| Event | Day | Duration | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wrath of the Godking | 1st | 2 hours | The Godking — sovereign of the young gods — descends on his lair (up to 4× HP/loot with more hunters). The Events panel names the nearest town. See The Court of the Seventh Sky below. |
| Descent of the Sky-Wyrm | 8th | 2 hours | The Seventh-Sky Wyrm coils down onto its lair (up to 4× HP/loot). The Events panel names the nearest town. |
| Awakening of the Jade Serpent | 15th | 2 hours | The Jade Serpent world boss rises at the capital temple in Palm Haven — scales up to 3× HP/loot the more hunters show up. Gather a party before it sinks back into stone. Everyone who fought may open the capital-temple chest once per week. |
| Rise of the Night Titan | 20th | 2 hours | The Night Titan rises at its lair (up to 4× HP/loot). The Events panel names the nearest town. (Moved off the 15th so it no longer shares the Jade Serpent's day.) |
| Surfacing of the Cloud Leviathan | 22nd | 2 hours | The Cloud Leviathan surfaces near the mainland shores — the one Court boss every account can reach without crossing to the isles (up to 4× HP/loot). |
One apex boss per week, rotating monthly — these four creatures spawn nowhere else, so their Bestiary entries are exclusive to the events. Each boss has a fixed lair; the Events panel names the nearest town while the event runs. Beside every lair stands a tribute chest: everyone who joined the fight (dealt damage at any point — you do not have to still be hitting in the last minute) may open it once per ISO week for gold, eternity shards and a cosmetic dye scroll, even if you fight both the 13:00 and 19:00 windows. Hunters who stay connected and deal at least 0.5% of the boss's maximum health (minimum 500) also receive a personal assist pouch of 2500 gold and 1 Eternity Shard in the backpack when the boss dies. Each Court corpse also rolls a named rare (~1.5%): Godking's Circlet, Wyrm's Noon Scale, Night-Titan Heart, or Leviathan's Pearl — first-come on the body. Ordinary hunts never pay this pouch. Bring a raid — their strength scales with how many hunters are online.
Jade Serpent, Xibalba Herald, Stone Warchief, and Cult Hierophant leave a second, more modest weekly chest inside the capital temple in Palm Haven. Everyone who fought that boss may open it once per week for gold and festival goods (Jade Idol, Ancestor Candle, Soul Orb, Obsidian) — not Eternity Shards. Wayeb Unbound and Serpent Cult Uprising share the Cult Hierophant chest. Court lair chests are separate and still pay shards.
| Event | Time | Duration | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harvest of Maize | Mar 20 & Sep 21 | 3 days | Spring and autumn equinox festival: +50% loot and gold from every hunt, and a festival merchant sets up in Palm Haven's plaza with rare goods. |
| Ancestors' Vigil | Nov 1 | 2 days | +25% loot, ancestor spirits wander the wilds in greater numbers, and the ancestor keeper awaits at the capital temple in Palm Haven. |
| New Fire | January 1 | 3 days | The year is kindled: +25% loot, and Fire-Priest Pop waits at the capital temple in Palm Haven with a New Fire Hearth. Speak with him while the fire burns to receive the Year of the Serpent title (no combat power). |
| Event | Roughly every | Duration | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quetzal Migration | 2–4 days | 1 hour | Flocks of quetzals cross the jungle canopy in greater numbers. Hunt them for feathers and sell to the feather collector in Palm Haven's plaza. |
| Rains of Chaac | 4–8 days | 90 min | Crabs, toads and swamp serpents crowd the shores and swamps, and fishing catch chance rises +20%. |
| Serpent Cult Uprising | 5–9 days | 1 hour | Serpent cultists seize a village shrine over 2 waves, with the Cult Hierophant boss arriving last (up to 2× HP/loot). The Events panel shows which city is threatened. Everyone who fought the Hierophant may open the capital-temple chest once per week. |
Donations at any temple's offering flame fill a kingdom-wide pool. When it fills, the whole server gets a reward — no fixed schedule, it's purely community-driven (an admin can also trigger these directly):
| Event | Duration | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Bounty of the Three | 24 hours | +25% loot and gold for everyone. |
The Coin Shop's Boosts tab holds three separate goals that fill from everyone's contributions — any player can chip in any amount of Tikal Coins toward any of them, at any time. Unlike Temple Offerings, all three run in parallel: more than one boost can be active at once, and each has its own independent pool.
| Boost | Target | Duration once full | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Golden Surge | 4,000 Tikal Coins | 2 hours | +30% experience server-wide. |
| Bountiful Tides | 6,000 Tikal Coins | 90 minutes | 2× loot and gold server-wide. |
| Warrior's Vigil | 3,000 Tikal Coins | 3 hours | +25% training — weapon/shielding skill gains, magic-level gains and fishing all train faster. Monster-kill experience is unaffected (Golden Surge covers that). |
When a pool fills, the boost activates immediately for the whole server, shows up in the Events panel just like a scheduled event, and the pool resets to collect again. The Events panel also lists the boost's top contributors while it's active. Every Tikal Coin you ever put toward a Community Boost counts permanently toward your Benefactors ranking (Rankings window → Benefactors tab) — that tally never resets, unlike the pool itself.
